Menopause Bells? Here’s How You Should Be Taking Care Of Yourself

Menopause is the most frustrated, irritated and tiring thing in every woman's life. Marking the end of monthly menstrual days, menopause tends to bring a lot many changes to your body. It brings along with it changes like vaginal dryness, weight gain, hair loss, brittle nails, and more other significant changes. You must be well aware of these changes in order to take proper control of your health during and after this phase. Even though these changes occurring in your body, there are many things you should be doing to take proper care of your body from head to toe. This is why you must have a look at following menopause symptoms and know how you should be taking care of yourself before, during, & after the menopause phase.

1. Eat CLEAN during menopause: It's a known fact that wherever we go, we are overflowed by processed and packaged foods, luscious lattes and sugary snacks. Our socializing with friends/relatives is always accompanied by food. It may be a challenge to avoid the cravings. But, eating about 80% of hygienic and clean food almost every time may keep your menopause symptoms at bay and will help in keeping your health intact. Also, remember maintaining a healthy weight is equally important. One of the best things you can do during your menopause phase is by reducing inflammation. So, learn to eat less and never get disheartened if you gain a little fat around your belly. It's your body's way to handle your hormones.

2. Keep your Vaginal dryness at bay with lubricants and moisturizers: Vaginal dryness is the most common symptom that is found in around 30% of menopausal women. But, you can use good quality vaginal moisturizers and lubricants that may help you against the discomfort caused due to the vaginal dryness.

3. Maintain a healthy weight with regular exercise: According to a report, women tend to gain around 10-15 kgs of body weight after the age of 50. Loss of muscle mass, stress, and low estrogen levels are some of the reasons that may cause weight gain during menopause. A regular exercise along with healthy diet are your best partners to avoid weight gain during this phase. Activities like swimming, aerobics, yoga are all great choices to go with. Although there are many other symptoms associated with menopause, the ones discussed above are the most common ones. Some other tips that may be useful for you

  • Limit the intake of alcohol
  • Relieve your muscle tension with some relaxation techniques like meditation
  • Try alternative therapies like acupuncture
