Sometimes it is nice to lounge around in the water during the scorching hot summers, when there is so much heat. Aquatic exercises provide you with many benefits, including an ideal environment to work out throughout the year. Water workouts are great for your mind and body to improve balance and cardiovascular fitness. Water produces its own resistance that strengthens the muscles. So here are some tips to get you started:

* Water walking or jogging Water jogging is a great exercise to get in shape and burns 565 calories per hour. Start with forward and backward walking in chest or waist high water. Walk about 20-25 steps forward, and then walk backward. Increase your speed and intensity to make it little more difficult. Do alternate jogging for 30 seconds with walking in place for another 30 seconds. Continue this for 5 minutes.

* One Legged balance It strengthens your leg and core muscles, the ones responsible for balance, without the risk of falling and hurting yourself.Stand on 1 leg while raising the other knee to hip level. Place a pool noodle under your raised leg, so that the noodle forms a U with your foot in the center of the U. Hold as long as you can up to 30 seconds and then switch legs. Try 1-2 sets of 5 on each leg.

*Pool Plank Planks have been proved to core-strengthener and a great work out exercise to strengthen the abdominal muscles. It also boosts up your endurance and also water pushing and pulling increases the challenge to your core. You need to stand on the pool floor. Hold a water log, a long cylindrical piece of foam that floats vertically in both the hands. Straightly press it into the water and lean forward until your body is on an even incline, keeping your head out of the water. Stay in the same position for at least 2-3 minutes.

* Aqua Cycling It is underwater cycling class. It effectively burns cellulite and enhances blood flow. Bikes are placed in a pool and you pedal against the water resistance, with water up to the waist. It is best for your body and mind. Not only you shape your body in a much more efficient way than on land, but also protect your health, bone structure, joints and muscles. Scientific studies show that exercising in water provides numerous benefits to both health and body. Aquatic exercises not only helps to burn fat fast, but also ease symptoms of chronic conditions such as arthritis, fibromyalgia, back pain and chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).
